Brave Browser Features

Brave is a web browser different from Chrome and Firefox in that it is a browser devoted to security and privacy of the user. Brave offers:

  • Native adblocking and tracker blocking at varying levels of sensitivity through an extension-like interface
  • Opt-in program for privacy-respecting ads that will earn the user Basic Attention Tokens (BATs) when the user regularly browses the Internet or visits certain web pages
    • These BATs can be redeemed for money (gift cards), paid subscriptions, and tips to content creators of the user’s choice
  • Load pages from 3x to 6x faster than Chrome and Firefox because ads are blocked
  • Easy importing of settings from old browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
  • Private Browsers open a Tor connection with default DuckDuckGo. They also allegedly “route your browsing through several servers before it reaches your destination.”
