Connectwise / ScreenConnect
[Name],
We understand you may have gotten security notifications related to ConnectWise Control Client / ScreenConnect. Recently, as a result of an attempt to standardize the service that we provide across many departments under the Trinity Technology Services umbrella, we have moved our Biology Macs into the same support group as other departments such as Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, etc.
Practically, this change doesn’t affect much from the perspective of our users. ScreenConnect / ConnectWise, however, is a piece of software that is automatically pushed to all computers in this group. It has been on Windows computers for about six months now, but the merger of our Science Drive departments on the Mac side has only happened recently, which is why you’re getting the notification.
ConnectWise / ScreenConnect, as a piece of software, is a secure way for us to connect to your system in order to troubleshoot issues remotely. We only connect with your permission, and when we go to connect, there will be a popup that you can click in order to give us permission to connect.
Let us know if you have any other questions, and we’ll be glad to assist.
